An option that results in better outcomes than if the patient is served by a single physician. Best practices models require multidisciplinary approaches to treatment. General Cancer Conference brings together physicians from various disciplines for education and a whole-picture approach to ensuring all aspects of patients’ cases are reviewed and acknowledged. During the conference physicians discuss current treatment plans, emphasize use of advances in cancer treatment and clinical trials, cost effectiveness, physician competency, training and service gaps that impact the level of care and outcomes. Hosting general cancer conferences result in a more efficient, cohesive and streamlined approach to addressing the complexities of coordination along the cancer care continuum, increased physician engagement and improved patient outcomes.
